American Flooring Distributors is pleased to announce the addition of QT Sound Control to our portfolio of products.

QT Sound Control is a line of high quality sound control underlayments, manufactured in the USA by ECORE International, a company that transforms reclaimed waste into unique performance surfacing. QT is made from 92% recycled rubber and has been tested in more than 400 laboratory and field test assemblies. QT rubber underlayment has been proven to repeatedly perform as engineered to meet design requirements. The product and engineering support that is provided by QT Sound Control Insulation guarantees that QT sound control will work as specified, every time.

It’s engineered for use directly under most floor finishes, yielding exceptional impact sound insulation results, even under hard surface flooring for concrete or wood-framed construction. QTscu is available in 48-inch-wide rolls and five standard thicknesses, ranging from 2 millimeter (mm) to 15 mm. Also available with a waterproof membrane, SCU can be installed under most types of grouted, glued, and floating floors, including hard tile, hardwood, engineered wood, laminate, LVT, sheet vinyl, and carpet. Manufactured in Pennsylvania from 92-percent resilient recycled rubber and backed by more than 400 independent laboratory and field tests, QT SCU has been repeatedly tested, proven, selected, and used in some of the best hotels and multi-family developments in the world.

QT Acoustical Sound Insulation is FloorScore certified. The FloorScore program was developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) in conjunction with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), which tests and certifies flooring as well as flooring insulation products, and confirms production facilities compliance with rigorous indoor air quality emission requirements. Individual volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are evaluated using health-based specifications.

Flooring products that earn FloorScore certification qualify for use in high performance schools and office buildings. QT sound control rubber underlayments can also assist specifiers by potentially contributing toward earning 9 LEED points, making them a preferred choice for nearly any sound insulation application.
